A Bangladeshi student went to the USA in 1997 to study. After completing his studies, he joined the service. His wife also works in a reputed company. They have two daughters in their house, the elder daughter is studying medicine and the younger daughter is in primary school.

Sometimes they come to Bangladesh because of the pull of the country. When he came to Bangladesh, he felt very sad that most of the boys and girls in this country could not study due to a lack of money. They don’t even get two meals a day. Many children cannot go to the doctor because their parents cannot afford the medical expenses. Most children drop out of school at the primary level and suffer from malnutrition.

Seeing this, Collins is very upset; he thinks he can’t do anything. After that, he returned to the USA and started working by reducing his weekends by one day. With the money he earns from working one day a week and 4 days a month, he sends it to Bangladesh for 30 children, with which 30 children are given education and treatment. Collins thought, this help is not enough for the children and is thinking about establishing a nonprofit organization, to raise funds and help people in need. This is how Mercy International was established on April 7, 2009.

With this organization, more children were helped. Right now there are 3 schools in Bangladesh under Mercy International that have helped more than 150 students so far. These students are very poor, their parents are unable to send them to school because they have no salary and they cannot eat properly leading them to malnutrition. This is why our goal is to help as many children as possible. We need to join everyone together in order to succeed and fulfill the goal.
